Workplace health and safety hazards can affect any industry be it construction, agriculture, or manufacturing. However, mining is the one industry that is most commonly and severely influenced. There are numerous factors that pose a threat to mine workers, including injuries by accident, exposure to dust and chemicals, the possibility of fire, collapse, or explosion, and more.
Because mining involves so many hazardous tasks, proper safety training is critical to the functioning of the industry and to the general well-being of mine workers.
The Vision
The founders of Protected At Work are experienced safety trainers committed to helping companies in the mining industry reduce the number of workplace incidents. They started off by offering on-site training sessions to the mining companies located in the states of Arizona, Utah, and Nevada.
Having built a solid database of clients, Protected At Work decided to create a web platform that would help increase their reach and allow them to offer courses online. So, they turned to Scopic to create the learning platform they envisioned.
The Scopic Solution
Our developers built a cutting-edge web platform that allows users to enroll in safety training courses within the mining industry. The courses are offered both online and on-site and cover Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations and requirements.
Scopic created an extensive Learning Management System (LMS) on WordPress that helps manage all the training courses. A separate site – admin panel – was developed to help the client add, edit, and remove the site content.
