Molecular iPad
Unique endorsement on educational molecular technology
Explore the fascinating world of chemical structures.
The Visualization Challenge Summarized
Visualizing microscopic units is both a conceptual and technical challenge. Experts in biology are needed to guide molecular representation, and to ensure content accuracy. In the meantime, programmers know best which tool choice to decide on. It is a time-consuming process that requires resources. There are complex steps to be overviewed such as modeling the specific geometry and customizing the graphical appearance.
The Vision Behind the App
The company envisioned a useful tool related to molecules and the way they are displayed. The tool would serve for both scientific and educational purposes. If scientists and students would view the chemical structures realistically, their workflow and learning curve would become more effective. They aimed to make the user feel like they could manipulate the molecules themselves. To do so, the company was committed to finding the best 3D experts.
Scopic’s vast experience in the field got their interest.
The Scopic Solution
Scopic and the company worked together to build Molecular iPad, an application for iOS. This platform lets you showcase and interact with molecular structures by showing 3D renderings of molecules. You can manipulate and rotate them by using two-finger pinch gestures or pan the molecule by moving two fingers across the screen at once. Molecules’ amino acid and nucleotide sequences have never been this easy to visualize!
